By the Light

I am the waxing moon
Whose time has come too soon
Shining throughout the night
Before dawn’s breaking light

I am the waxing moon
My time has come too soon
Filling in the space
I’m running God’s bright race

I am the waxing moon
The bride without a groom
To serve the greater good
I do the thing I should

I am the waxing moon
My end will be here soon
My turn is just a piece
Of luminous release

My light a holy gift
My countenance a shift
To what is good and true
In dark and shadowed hue

I am the waxing moon
My time has come to soon
I leave with breaking dawn
In fullness I am gone.

    • I was praying to God about who He wants me to be as a woman in the midst of a trial. God knows our joy and our suffering; even when life is dark, God is still good and we can still trust Him and love Him despite our pain or difficulties. I want to walk “By the Light” of who He is and who He has made me to be…His light is in us, our job is to shine. The moon can not help but illuminate the night no matter what stage it is in…
